FROM THE CHAIRMAN
How y’all doin at The Best Harley Club in the Whole Wide World
Writing these Chirps requires some inspiration which some months comes easy and others it is like pulling teeth waiting for that light bulb to appear above my head.
So last night I was playing poker with buddies from the Club and those of you that know me, are aware of my passion for music. After the poker ended we watched some Uriah Heep and we sang in un-harmony to every tune. Here are the words from “Sweet Freedom”
“ As you look around you do you like what you see?
Though it sometimes makes you lonely, do you like being free?
And are you sure you’ll be okay without my company?
I just want you to be happy even if it’s not with me
Sweet, sweet freedom……………..
What I’m really trying to say is that I will be around
Should you find that after all you can’t get by with what you’ve found
Oh, it wasn’t just my heart you took and gently tossed into the sea
Though it’s hard to find the words I need I guess it was me”
Just the other day I was travelling in my son, Matthew’s, car and here he was, born in the 1990’s playing and singing that exact tune!!!
Now, how lucky have we been to have been in an era where the music will be played and sung for generations to come and the motto of “Live to Ride Ride to Live,” came from.
Peter Novella has just informed me that 114 people are coming to Paternoster for the “Welcome Summer Overnighter”. Wow! What a turnout. Well-done guys!
David Lindsay arrived at the Clubhouse this morning with an industrial microwave oven, which he has kindly donated. Thank you David. This Club and its people never cease to amaze me.
Finally, to you and your loved ones, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2012.
See you all
Luv
Gary
